Relay for Life – Natalie Yeoman

Kia ora everyone. Along with Nicki Swift, I am Ambassador for this year’s Relay Your Way, replacing the old Relay for Life fundraiser for the Cancer Society. I like to see my involvement in this as contributing to Jesus’ admonition that we be like salt and light in the communities we live in. I would love some of you to share in this with me.

My incurable cancer was diagnosed 7 years ago and the fact I am still here is very much because of the work of the society. It makes sense I contribute to fund raising to assist its work. But it makes sense many of us contribute to this as so many of us either have cancer, or know and love someone who has cancer. My initiative ‘Nat’s Neighbours’, is an opportunity for many of us to do that on MARCH 5th, any time between 10:00am – 4:00pm, from our house at 25 Campbells Rd, Pine Hill.

We have a beautiful 3km return walk from our house, up the hill to the end of the road which gives you a lovely view over Dunedin city and harbour. Just come and meet at our place, do your walk whatever time suits you, and we’ll give you a cuppa and something to eat when you return.

I have done this walk for six years but last year was immobilised by my cancer almost the whole year. Now I am once again able to do it though a few months ago I couldn’t walk across the room. So I walk it and give thanks and invite you to walk and see the journey through my eyes. It’s a walk of celebration.

So what to do?

You can simply donate by going online.

You can enter into my team, Nat’s Neighbours, (no cost) and you can donate online.

You can encourage others to donate by sponsoring you or just make your own donation.

Every little or big bit helps.

Thank you and we look forward to welcoming many of you to our place on the day.
